General
Who is MoneyID for?
MoneyID is being developed for accounts payable and treasury teams that pay vendors, and for the vendors they pay. Vendors would confirm their bank details separately for each customer they choose.
Can we use MoneyID today?
Public enrollment isn’t available. You can request early access for a guided walkthrough and a discussion of a tailored implementation. Availability, scope and timing are agreed separately. See what can help to have ready.
How can we take part?
Interested in using MoneyID? Request early access. If you’d rather tell us how your team handles bank detail changes today, we also hold short research conversations. Neither creates an account or gives access to a service. Please don’t email bank details, payment instructions, passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents.
Where can our security team find information for a review?
Our Security page explains MoneyID’s proposed design, current boundaries and readiness status. Tell us what information your security team needs for its review.

What does MoneyID check?
Your team would enter bank details it already holds for a vendor, such as details from an invoice or a change request. MoneyID would check them against the bank details the vendor has confirmed for your organization.
Does a match approve a payment?
No. A match means that, at the time of the check, the submitted bank details matched the details your vendor confirmed for your organization, and that confirmation was in effect. A match doesn’t approve a payment, confirm who sent a request, or guarantee a payment is safe.
Does a MoneyID result tell us whether a request is fraudulent?
No. A completed comparison would tell you whether the bank details your team submitted match the details your vendor confirmed for your organization at the time of the check. Some checks may not produce a comparison result. A result doesn’t establish who sent a request or whether it is genuine. Follow your organization’s required controls. Your team decides whether to pay.
What if the bank details don’t match?
It means the bank details your team submitted don’t match the details your vendor confirmed for your organization. A mismatch is a discrepancy to investigate, not a finding of fraud. MoneyID wouldn’t reveal the vendor’s stored bank details. Before you pay, resolve the discrepancy through your organization’s required bank-change checks.
What if there’s no record, the confirmation isn’t in effect, or the check is unavailable?
- No record: MoneyID has no confirmation on record from that vendor for your organization.
- Confirmation not in effect: the vendor’s confirmation for your organization isn’t currently in effect, for example because it was withdrawn.
- Check unavailable: MoneyID couldn’t complete the check.
None of these means the details are wrong, and none means it’s safe to pay. Follow your organization’s required controls.
Does MoneyID replace our callback?
No. MoneyID is meant to work alongside your existing checks. A callback can help your team verify a request through a known contact. MoneyID would add a check of the bank details against what the vendor confirmed for your organization. Your team follows its organization’s required controls.
Does the comparison reveal the vendor’s stored bank details?
No. Your team submits bank details it already holds. The comparison doesn’t reveal the vendor’s stored bank details.
What if bank details or the vendor’s confirmation change?
You can check again whenever you need to, for example before using details saved from an earlier payment. An earlier match doesn’t establish that the details and the vendor’s confirmation are still current.
Would MoneyID replace our accounting system or payment provider?
No. MoneyID is being designed to work alongside the systems you already use. You’d keep your accounting system and the bank or payment provider that sends your payments. MoneyID doesn’t hold, move or send money.
For vendors
These answers describe how vendor participation is planned to work.
What would MoneyID do for my business?
Customers often ask vendors to confirm bank details, especially after a change. MoneyID is intended to let you enroll once and reuse that enrollment, while confirming your details separately for each customer you choose. The aim is to reduce repeated setup while keeping each customer’s confirmation separate. Your evidence may need updating over time, and customers may still ask for their own checks.
If I confirm my details for one customer, can my other customers rely on them?
No. Confirmation is separate for each customer. Confirming your details for one customer doesn’t let another customer rely on them. You choose which customers you confirm them for.
Would the comparison disclose my stored bank details?
No. Your customer would submit details it already holds. The comparison would not disclose your stored bank details.
What should I do today?
Public enrollment isn’t available yet. For questions about invoices, payment timing or vendor setup, contact the customer that pays you. To talk with us about how bank detail changes work for your business, email us. Please don’t email bank details, payment instructions or passwords.
What should I do if my customer sends a request mentioning MoneyID?
Before you act, check the request with your customer using contact details you already have, not ones in the message. MoneyID will never ask you to share your password or a one-time code.
