How to check a request that mentions MoneyID
Guide
Use these steps when a message about a vendor’s bank details mentions MoneyID.
Warning signs
- The message is urgent or asks you to pay today.
- It asks you to change where a payment goes.
- It gives you new phone numbers, links or email addresses to use.
Steps
Use your own steps first
Follow your organization’s own bank-change steps first. MoneyID does not replace them.
Call the vendor yourself
Call your vendor at a phone number you already have, not one in the message.
Know what MoneyID won’t do
MoneyID will never ask you to share your password or a one-time code. Never share a password or code with someone who contacts you.
Reach us your own way
To reach MoneyID, type moneyid.app into your browser or start a new email to contact@moneyid.app. Don’t use links or phone numbers from the message.
Share safely
When you tell us about a message, don’t include passwords, codes or full bank account numbers. A short description is enough. Please don’t send attachments.
What MoneyID will never do
- Ask you to share your password or a one-time code.
Tell us about a message
A match does not approve a payment. Your team decides whether to pay. If a message mentions MoneyID and something feels off, tell us at contact@moneyid.app.
